Charles Marc Hervé Perceval Leclerc is a Monégasque racing driver, racing for the Formula One team Scuderia Ferrari. Born and raised in Monte Carlo, Monaco, he was born to Herve Leclerc, a popular racing car driver in the 1980s and the 1990s. Herve took Charles with him to the races when Charles was little and this made Charles hugely invested in the sport and he decided to follow his father’s footsteps to the motor racing. He began go-karting at the age of 8 and during his teenage years, he ended up winning many competitions.

In 2016, he joined the Ferrari Driver Academy. After gaining a reputation with Formula 2, he made his Formula 1 racing debut for Sauber Ferrari. Sauber had been performing abysmally in the Grand Prix’ for the previous few seasons and Charles changed that and after his arrival into the team, the team ended in the top 10 by the end of the season. In 2019, Charles’ career flourished, as he ended up in top 10 in almost all the Grand Prix’, also scoring the first places in the Italian and Belgian Grand Prix’.

“I like the danger, I like the adrenaline and I need it to race.”
